This book was exactly what it looks like - a fun, light story about two Jewish families that own a resort in the Catskills. It gives major Marvelous Mrs. Maisel vibes and is a quick and easy story to enjoy. I often refer to these types of books as palate cleansers, and this is the perfect one for summer.

Skip this book if you’ve been working on yourself.
If not for the authors constant fatphobia it would have scored higher for me.

The perfect summer read. Lots of characters, but I thought they all contributed to the story perfectly. A short synopsis: 1) two families intertwined by the Golden Hotel, 2) lots of drama unfolds, and 3) old traditions are uprooted by social media. I thought this was a very smart book full of nostalgia.
