Lisa Kleypas will never disappoint me. She never misses!! I reread this book just last fall, but this time around I was listening to the audio book. Kev and Win are the definition of soul mates. Usually with friends to lovers, I have a hard time feeling satisfied because I didn't get to watch them grow to love each other, but wow my heart is so full. The way Kev and Win's love for each other never wavered from the first to the last page <3

Kev Merripen was taken in by the Hathaway's family since they found him on the beaten and near death many years earlier. He is a mysterious, distant and somewhat grumpy figure who is deep;y in love with Winifred Hathaway. His love is held back because of his belief that he is not the man for her, he is a gypsy with a dark history and has nothing to offer his love. Tortured soul, beaten soul, sexy soul, Lisa Kleypas does them so well.
Win, who has been sickly since suffering from scarlet fever years early travels to France for a medical treatment to make her well again. After years of treatment she finally returns to her home and brings a man along with her. She loves lev but sees no future with the elusive gypsy so she sets her sights on the possibility of a new life even if it is less than she hoped for.
There are many revolutions in Merripen's world. He will find out some of his history and find family. He will also act like a baby and try to muck everything up in the misguided attempt to bring happiness. His road is not an easy one.
A lovely tale, sweet, romantic and a very happy ending. An excellent audiobook
