not what i expected from the cover at all!! this book was really wholesome, had some good character development and the love story was cute. wouldn't usually be my vibe but i definitely enjoyed it - took me about a day to finish, so that says it all

Very cute very cozy good time book

Easily one of my top reads this year. Don't let the length scare you, this book is so stinking good you'll fly right thru. I was seriously surprised when I got to the end. You know when you read a book and are sad when it's over because you just want more, need more? This is that book. It's so jam packed with details and laughs and history and just so much amazing story. You have a 6 year old that's absolutely one of the best kid characters I've ever read. She made me laugh more times than I can count. Noah is EVERYTHING. Like every hero we've ever wanted. I loved Shay too, just as much. She was so flawed and still amazing. I've only read a few books by this author, so I don't know if all her books are as good as this one, but I can say this is worth reading.

This was such a fun cute read. I give it a 4 star rounding up because NOAH is husband material! Everyone deserves to be loved and adored the way Noah does for Shay.
It’s a small town romance with marriage of convenience but little to her knowledge, he’s pined after her since high school. He’s also the guardian of his troubled 6yo niece who is foul mouthed and acts like a pirate most of the time. The banter is funny and I was laughing throughout the entire reading journey. It was the perfect palette cleanser with great side characters too.

* Marriage of convenience
* He falls first
* Small town
* Single parent/guardian (his niece)
* Close proximity

3.5 ⭐️ This book was a cute small town romance. I’m not sure why, but I got bored a little more than halfway through the book. I had no motivation to read/finish it. Overall, it was a good book.

I forget what made me begin this book in the first place.

Some good reviews and it sounded cute I guess? Reminded me a little of [b:Against a Wall|59725768|Against a Wall (Stonecut County, #2)|Cate C. Wells|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1638226255l/59725768._SY75_.jpg|94055128] with the small town vibes and boy-who-has-been-secretly-pining-forever trope. Except that story has one of my favorite book boyfriends of all time and this one... did not.

Noah was really trying to be awkward and shy while also being rough and dominant and it just did not work at all. Shay was so oblivious it made her come off as insufferably stupid. They didn't feel like real people to me. The sex scenes were slightly cringey. And it was kind of boring.

I don't know. There were a few sweet moments. Not for me though.
