The overall concept of this book was so fucking cute!! I loved that Noah was secretly in love with Shay and then she ended up right back there. I even loved how he kinda resented her in the beginning. But it was also so fuckin frustrating.. their emotions and reasonings were all over the place. Noah had so many chances to come clean about shit or explain himself but he didn’t and it was kinda weird that Shay didn’t really remember a whole lot about Noah. Idk it just felt a little incomplete for some reason. Gennie was incredible that little girl was so fuckin funny and added so much to the story!! I guess I just feel like they spent so much time wish-washing between their own feelings and the reality of their relationship that it didn’t make sense to me ever. But I did really like their characters and they did have good chemistry it was just the problems they were overcoming were a little confusing and jumbled and it was kinda hard to understand the root cause and why things were going the way they were going. Also Noah was never even a thought in Shay's mind before she went back? She never once thought oh wow I wonder whats up with my old friend Noah? And Noah literally based his whole business off Shay but when he finally saw her he was pissed and hated her??? In the beginning Noah kept making comments about how Shay was so stuck up and acted too good to care about anyone but also he secretly harbored love for her for like 15/20 years? It just felt like there were so maybe mixed up feelings that didn't fit together nicely in one storyline. ALSO then you find out that Noah left first and Shay had texted him but he never responded????? but he had the fucking nerve to act like she was too stuck up and she was the worst??? tf!!!

A sweet, small-town romance with a stubborn love for the word ‘wife’—charming in parts, but the plot must’ve taken a long vacation!!!

This book has me giggling and kicking my feet. I was obsessed and felt so deeply for these two characters. By 60% the book started to feel a touch sluggish to me so it started to take away from the story. Things I didn't like include how long it took these two to communicate their feelings and I didn't love the sex scenes. Idk what it was but they felt a little cringe to me. Overall a great time but maybe a touch too long.
