This series keeps getting better and better. This time Alex is on his own. No one believes him, that a famous singer and philanthropist has a nefarious plan. He has to endure being rejected by his one and only friend as well as the cuts and bruises that seem to follow him wherever he goes. Only this time, the biggest injury is one no one can see.

I can't help but hurt for this young man. The only person that he has in his life that he can trust is his guardian. The things that he has to carrying around inside of him are things no 14-year old should have to deal with. I just want some of the adults in his life to step up and do something right by this young man. (I know. I get emotionally involved with fictional characters. So sue me.)

I couldn't read this books fast enough, but now, I have wait for the next 5-6 to come in the mail. The waiting will be hard.

i really enjoyed the plot because mi6 wasn’t around. it made everything much higher stakes and made you root for alex even more. the added layer of sabina being dragged into his mess was so good.

Woah! Just WOAH!
Even though the book was pretty amazing, I couldn’t get past the fact that Alex is 14 YEARS OLD!!!

Maybe I’ve read too many romance books, but SABINA DOESN’T DESERVE MY BABY BOY!!!

This book is well written, filled with twists, turns and fun chases. It also is one of my favourite children/ya genres - incompetent adults regularly failing the children around them

Killing Yassen was a hate crime against me and I'm still upset about it.

SpoilerWow. That one hurt a bit. Why did Yassen have to die? He was so good. He was such an interesting character and then he had to get shot. I'm glad that book exists later on in the series entirely dedicated to him. But honestly, he didn't have to die.
