Fantastic start to a brilliant series. I did the reverse of the norm and watched the series first, which is incredible and written by the authors.
The story is gripping, the mystery's are (surprise) mysterious and the more grounded nature of the sci-fi aspects really compliment the gritty atmosphere of this take on humanities future

Loved this book, even though it took me about 60 years to read. Full review to come!

This is a great science fiction read. It was exciting, smart, and well-constructed. It perhaps lacked slightly in the character development but, truthfully, I only noticed that in hindsight and didn't feel the novel suffered as a result.

The only complaint I have is strange. There was barely a cliff hanger. There was no suspense to suck me into the next book of the series. On the other side of the coin, it was a great stand alone novel, that at times left me one the edge of my seat. I recommend this book.

I couldn't be happier with my last book read in 2015. An amazing space-opera, beautifully written, with a level of details that is usually hard to find. And I loved it, as I always love stuff that involves space. I love space. Battlestar Galactica, Interstellar, Alien, Aliens, The Martian, Gravity... all movies/tv shows that I loved, some of them are in my all time favourites list, but I hardly ever read about space. For some reason it always has been something that I loved to see on the big screen but that I thought would never be well translated into the book form. I was completely wrong. This book is amazing, it captured me from the first page and I can't wait to read the others in the series.
In the meantime, there's the tv show that has been just renewed for a second series! I hope is good..
