Loved the book. Loved the perspective. Loved the authors choice to only refer to him as “the defendant”. It could have been edited down just a bit but overall great if you want a book that will absolutely enrage you as a woman.

This book is brilliantly researched and written. The way Knoll pulls the various plot lines through time and between characters was expertly executed (no pun intended). And while the content is difficult, reimagining the story as told by two female protagonists was incredibly gratifying. This book totally exceeded my expectations. The audio performances are fantastic.

“The Defendant did not like to be told what to do and when to do it and once jammed his jail cell keyhole with toilet paper so the guards couldn’t get in when they arrived to escort him to his arraignment. For this he was called cunning and clever, though I had a dog who also tore up toilet paper when he didn’t get enough attention”

This book is a literary masterpiece. The author managed to show the wide ranging effects on the (fictional) victims so well while never even calling this ass wipe by his actual name.

This is how you do true crime. Truly a masterpiece if what women must put up with. The true horror is misogyny
