Too much watt pad for my liking (already)…  and I‘m nit vibing with the FMC. She so over the top and non-communicative…

I hadn’t read a skiing romance before so I thought I’d give it a chance!

This one was not bad by any means, just frustrating!

Jackson is a PT on the national skiing team. She gets assigned her ex boyfriend from 5 years ago. Nate left when she was in the hospital from a skiing injury. He never called or texted. He never told her why he left. Now, she’s “dating” another skier and isn’t interested in his explanations. He’s determined to win her back slowly. It is a very slow burn in that aspect. I just wanted to shake them both to get them to talk.

In the end, there is a conflict that I think Nate handled poorly, but the FMC ended up groveling. I don’t think she alone did anything wrong. Too much miscommunication.

I did love the “I haven’t been with anyone since you” moment!

Oh how I love a good second chance romance! The fact that this was slow burn, steamy, and a sports romance had me all in.

Jackson was perfectly content living her life, working at the job she loved, and she had her relationship with Marco. Except that relationship was causing a bit of turmoil. After returning to work from a long (and much needed) vacation, Jackson finds out she has a new client, and will be expected to travel with him to all the races. The minute she sees THAT name on the folder, she's ready to run. The way her relationship with Nate ended still caused heartache, and she was still angry. Meanwhile Nate was living life the best he could. He was doing what he loved, but he didn't have the woman he loved by his side. It was time to find his way back to her. To show her that it was only ever her. She was it for him.

This book was filled with so much emotion. These two have quite the past, and you can feel the connection between them. Their road to reunion wasn't easy though. But Nate knew that would be the situation when he started. Secrets were still being kept. Jackson was guarding her heart. Friends were worried. Plus they worked together, so that made a reunion even more difficult.

The big moment was pretty intense. I knew that drama was coming, but I wasn't expecting it to be that grand. I'm still not over all of that, and how it affected Jackson. I also still have a question or two regarding all of it.

The reunion took a while to happen, but I was so happy when it did. I was rooting for these two.

On The Edge was my first book by Julia Connors that I had read, and I cannot wait for the next in this series. Sierra has me intrigued. I'm also looking forward to Petra's story, and I would love to see something regarding Marco.

this one is for the angst lovers!

My gosh was this angst filled! I loved it, haha!
I liked that this was about professional skiing instead of football, really made it stand out among sports romances I’ve read lately.
This is a second chance romance for two childhood sweethearts. I enjoyed watching these two slowly mend fences and old wounds. They also had good chemistry and banter.
This is a slow burn as well so be prepared!
This sort of reminded me of early Mariana Zapata.
If you’re into angst, second chance romance, slow burn romance, sports romance definitely recommend giving this a try!

I'm not going to lie, I read this book because I read "Center Ice" first and then had to work backwards to read about the characters that were already introduced. I read this series SUPER out of order - this was actually the last book that I read out of the series. I have to be honest, I mostly enjoyed this as a 3 star book because I was already invested in the characters and universe.

This is a second chance romance story. Is it super realistic? No. Was the reason behind Nate and Jackson's original breakup kind of flimsy? Yes. Do I know anything about ski racing? Absolutely not.

Miscommunication of this kind isn't really my jam but if it is yours, give this one a try. The dual POV really helps to make both characters more likable - if it had been written another way I don't think I would have enjoyed it half as much.

There were reasons why he left but she doesn’t find out until years later until they meet again.
