Good book for summer. I haven't read many romance novels but this was a fun one.

Wow, this story put some wind in my adventure-seeking sails. Saddled on bicycles and surrounded by glorious rugged America, the H/h grudgingly join together on the 4200 mile, emotion-stirring Transam trail. As a Thoreau enthusiast, I appreciated the Walden parallels Knox drew on and felt a sense of connection to the journey and motivations of the MCs. Just like Knox's other novel, there are no real threats or villains in this story. The conflict is the drama of unresolved bygones and distrust between the H/h. But this didn't slow the cadence of the narration. I pedaled through the pages, clenching the handlebars from the Pacific to the Atlantic.

Love this book. As always, Knox sucks me in with amazing characters. My only complaint was the final conflict. I'm not sure that the argument and the resulting effect matched up. The silence and separation seemed a bit extreme.

I would ALMOST give this 4 complete stars like a 3.95 my only hesitation is the ending felt a bit rushed after the heart fail. But all in all love the characters and adventure. Really fun, thought out romance.

Lexie Marshall has been training for the ride of a lifetime, but doesn't want to ride the 4,000 mile TransAm trail by herself. So she places an ad in hopes of finding someone to spend the summer with her riding across the country. She thinks she finds the perfect person in Tom Geiger. In her mind, he's a 50-ish, fatherly figure and would be a great companion. She soon finds out that the Tom Geiger in her mind is much different than the man she meets.

Tom has spent the past five years hiding away from his guilt, embarrassment and shame of his family. He's disillusioned with everything and wants to spend the summer riding across America by himself, not babysitting some woman with her high tech bike and equipment and her incessant need to map their every last move. So while he vows he ditching her as soon as he finds her a new partner, Tom finds himself liking Lexie more and more and unwilling to let her partner with anyone but him.

I loved Tom. Even though he comes across as an ass, he's a man who has been deeply hurt by pretty much everyone who is supposed to love him...so he's a little jaded. But he's also riddled with guilt. His involvement to stop his father and his company from ruining the environment ended up ruining the company and thousands of workers lives. He's disillusioned with pretty much anyone who says they care for him (with the exception of his sister), because all he's witnessed the past five years is the scorn of his family as they disowned him for doing what was right. But one little woman, one who irritates him with her inability to let go and be spontaneous on their ride breaks through his walls.

Lexie has a bad track record when it comes to picking men, so she figured she got another one wrong when she meets Tom. He confuses her and emotionally drains her with his mood swings, but even when she's mad at him and not speaking to him he still manages to get under her skin. She also knew what her breaking point was with Tom and when he pushed her to it, she "walked" away knowing she couldn't go further they way things were. I admired her for that, but I don't know if I'd "walk" away from him, knowing I was still riding with him for many more days.

This is a book that has been sitting on my Kindle for a while. Now I have to wonder why I waited so long to read it. I really enjoyed it. Lexie was a strong woman who wouldn't let loner Tom push her around. She gave as good as she got and that was just what Tom needed to snap out of his five year pout and re-enter the land of the living. This one was worth the ride.

While I would argue that this was a "scorching-hot" romance, it was pretty darn hot... and emotional and had me feeling way too much (in the best kind of way). I also wanted to hop on a bike - and I am not a cyclist!

I loved the back and forths and tension between "carefree" Tom and uptight Lexie. It felt real, and their journey together (literal and figurative) was a great ride. I just wish it hadn't ended so soon - I wanted more!

I failed to connect with Ride with Me the majority of the time. I prefer dialogue-heavy books, and this one, as a road romance, focused more on the journey rather than the day-to-day interactions between the characters. The pages of internal monologues, the characters' too quick transformations, and the isolation of the cycling route lent a distancing quality to the h/h and their story. In the beginning, I didn't understand their draw to each other, and then in the middle most of the interactions on the page were about sex, not about getting to know each other. I also would have appreciated reading about the h/h interacting with their family members more and talking about their lives back home. The book ended abruptly, and I couldn't quite trust in their HEA as I wanted to see them living their life as a couple in society, with their friends and family. I found Ride With Me underwhelming, but it was written well-enough that I want to try another Knox.

Would have got 4 stars but the ending was really rushed and I thought I had at least 100 pages left after the 1 page make up.... Turned out to be 100 pages of ads instead which was a disappointment. Shame as i don't think anything was really resolved.
