This book is perfectly balanced between personal reflections on the author's experiences with being a transracial adoptee, her journey of finding and reconnecting with her own biological families, and her experiences working with families in the adoption industry.
I requested my local library purchase a copy based purely off the title and cover design and I'm so glad I did! The author brings perspectives and experiences I would otherwise not have learned about (as someone who isn't adopted and doesn't plan on raising kids) and I am truly (excuse the wording) grateful for her work and sharing herself with us.

This was so informative and emotional. Like the author says it’s not pro or anti adoption, it’s about centering adoptee’s stories. This is very much intersectional as you’d expect. I appreciate all the emotional labor that went into this. The audiobook version was great.

This book’s is so honest & needs to be read by people who aren’t even related to adoption.

I worry about my son’s biological mom/first mom. I have for years. I would love to have a better relationship with her but geography doesn’t allow it.

I will work harder on my child’s sondersphere.
