I found this book to be a very stressful read, but also so relatable.

I really wanted to enjoy this book. I was immediately in love with the cover and the blurb pulled me in. However, the story was painfully slow. Events would happen throughout the novel and, despite being a big deal, the main character and the rest of her family would just sort of move on. Everything felt anticlimactic. I didn't find any of the characters likeable, and felt a little let down as I thought this might have been more of a queer story.

Fave of the year so far! I loved Raizl, an interesting and flawed character who I wanted to learn more and more about. So well written

DID NOT FINISH: 63%

There is nothing objectively wrong with this book, in the beginning, I found it quite interesting and I did care for our main character but the narrative style didn't grip me in the way I wanted. Whenever I stopped listening to the audiobook I just didn't feel like coming back to it because the story wasn't going anywhere new or exciting. It would probably end up being a 3 star read anyway.
