Interesting blend of historical war and fantasy with romance. I liked the letters. I felt the characters were sometimes a little flat, especially towards the 3/4 mark.

Beautifully written and a breath of fresh air from mediocre trope heavy books. A beautiful romance that feels like appropriate love at their age. Beautiful writing.

i’m not gonna lie, i went into this book expecting a sweet, fluffy, wholesome rivals to lovers romance. wtf did yall just put me through?!? my soul has been devastated in numerous ways. 

i saw some reviewers saying they didn’t like the book because it was instalove… um, excuse me? did we read the same book? i mean, the letters alone were enough to make this decidedly not instalove. 

anyway, divine rivals was amazing and heart wrenching and soul altering. i will never be the same after this book. love love love 5 stars.

The story began well, but the plot has become confusing. While some books allows readers to adapt gradually with  world-building, this story's vagueness and inconsistent direction are problematic.  The writing is undeniably beautiful and engaging, but the plot ultimately disappoints.
