I've been meaning to read this book for a long time and I was quite blown away. I haven't felt this engaged in a book for ages. Great historical element where the author hasn't cut corners in any way blended so effortlessly with the fantastic element of the dragons. Extremely well-written characters. One hell of a read and I think I'm going to dig right into the second volume.
