⚠️ Make sure you look at the content warnings for this book before reading.

This is the first book I have read by A. Rivers and I was NOT disappointed. Despite being only 274 pages, All Your Pucking Secrets is a well fleshed out story that walks you through Echo and Tyler's individual and combined lives - both past and present. At no point in this book did I feel like I was missing information that i needed, nor did I feel like I was being bombarded with any unnecessary details. The lighter parts of the book made it easier to get through the heavier content in the book without having to take breaks from reading. The ending and epilogue were well fitting for the pace of the book, didn't feel rushed, and tied up the story!

You'll like this book if you like: Morally grey male characters, Dual POV, Emotional reads, Second Chance romance, Friends to lovers to enemies to lovers, HEA, Hockey romance, spice.

DID NOT FINISH: 26%

I keep trying to get into these kinds of books but the guys just don’t grovel enough. They keep thinking that if they just do whatever they want the girl will fall into their arms and I hate that I need growling on their knees begging for forgiveness grovelling and this just was not it I actually hated the guy.

This was a thoughtful story sensitively told. Both Echo and Tyler have traumatic pasts that have significantly shaped their present lives and selves. The author really drew me in and kept me turning the pages to see where the story would lead next. I enjoyed the way we slowly uncover the truth of Echo and Tyler's pasts and how they are interconnected. There were many secrets, deceptions and half-truths, as well as snippets of life changing abuse, which was difficult to read, but the story was crafted so sensitively that I felt a deep connection to these characters and was very invested in them receiving a happy ending.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

All Your Pucking Secrets by A Rivers is a college hockey romance novel. This was one of those forbidden high school romance stories to start and also friends to lovers to enemies to lovers. It was definitely very intense, full of twists and had darker elements (check cw/tw). I enjoyed every twisty turn though and it kept me wondering through out the book.
Echo is a sweet but strong girl who ends up secretly dating Tyler a hockey player. Now I do not want to give anything away but they go through a brutal split up but then years later meet again in college where they reconnect. Of course the chemistry is there but how do you deal with what happened.
Such a great story. I loved the plot and characters. I totally in a way got why Tyler did what he at such a young age. Youth plays a role. I can not wait to read more!

Echo, the female lead, is in college on a scholarship far away from the town where she was hurt numerous times. She’s almost shocked into a panic attack to look up at a coffee shop and see Tyler, the male hockey playing lead and her ex-boyfriend, staring at her. His words and actions when they were in high school led to her emotional devastation, followed shortly after by physical damage from one of his teammates. She’s determined to have nothing to do with him, ever.

Tyler had reasons for everything he did when they were in high school and, now his father is dead, he’s angling for a second chance with Echo. But, whilst he knew she was seeing a psychologist, he didn’t realise just how hurt Echo remained…

This story is dual POV with flashbacks, well written, and an angsty, contemporary college romance, with accurate trigger warnings. I waited to be in the right headspace to read this story because I knew it would be emotionally intense, and I did cry for certain sections. I enjoyed that Echo was willing to draw boundaries and to continue to seek help for her mental health. I appreciated that there was general recognition that therapeutic help is often necessary when recovering from trauma for all people. Tyler is correctly identified as morally grey and fairly pushy but I appreciated that Echo’s health was his ultimate focus and he was willing to walk away if that was genuinely what she needed. I enjoyed the effort put into relationship redevelopment, and the intimate scene buildup that appropriately accounted for Echo’s historical trauma. I enjoyed supportive secondary characters.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
