I read most of this on a plane otherwise I’d probably have abandoned it; in general I don’t like books with unlikeable characters.

Please be aware massive TW for miscarriage reading this book!!

The beginning on the booked DRAGGED and was so slow, and then the second half was page turning. The ending wasn’t super satisfying. Overall good, but more of a drama than a thriller.

So… I had expected more of a psychological thriller, and it wasn’t quite what I thought it would be. This is definitely more of a character driven, suspense, drama, “desperate housewives” type novel. I liked hearing from the four different perspectives- all married women living in the suburbs- and I felt like that made me think more critically about women, motherhood, families, marriage, etc. However… this one had some really difficult topics (miscarriages being one of them), some pretty vulgar language and scenes, and an ending that was left pretty open.
