What a cliff hanger ;)! Pretty much need to see if the next book is done. Really hope it is after that ending.

*edit. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? 2015 for the next book? I wish I had the magical sense to know if I'll really enjoy a series... like this one... and wait until the full series has been written. 1-3 years between installments is like a form of slow torture. Very very slow. wah.

There is something about this installment that I liked less. It might have to do with the gratuitous violence. Up to this point, the violence has always served a purpose, but now... I hope the next one reverts to the former ones.

Still keeps you turning the pages

Occasionally dragged a bit but overall a good story, I like the insight into the history of key characters, and it certainly ended on a cliff hanger!

I had no interest in learning the backstory of another main character. It did expand the lore a bit, but for only one "class" of character. For me it appears that the author wants us to empathize with the Krasains, but based on actions in prior books, I don't care. The wedding of Arlen and Renna doesn't do anything to further the story and the reasoning for it is lacking. I imagine she'll have some important part to play and this was the way to get her to the front. Also, so much unneeded sex. For the love of all that's holy can we fade to black once in a while?

I'll continue the series begrudgingly, hopefully the last 2 books are solid.

Predictable. All the many characters follow the same progression. Not a bad read, bit disappointing

An excellent continuation of the Demon Cycle. Not quite so good as the first two. The pacing was a bit off and it felt sort of like a bridging book where boring but important things happen to move the story along from one big exciting thing to the next. I eagerly await the next book in hopes that Brett will recapture the glory of the first two books.
