This was okay read even though I had hard time getting into it. I like Everett character development and Gracie the best.

With every book I read by Nora Everly I find myself wanting more, moRE MORE!!! Her characters are super realistic. She has a way of creating characters that I would want to be friends with if they were real. She creates an issue that could happen to anyone. She grabs you and keeps you addicted to a story. I find myself waiting to see what happens next because of a single person wanting go be difficult.

Carpentry and Cocktails is no different. Willa has recently returned to Green Valley after being on the run. She first ran from her messed up life at age seventeen and then from the man she thought was her escape at age seventeen. Now she has to survive, thrive.

Everett is one of those guys you can drool over just because of your imagination. He is a protector with a well maintained body. He is a geek that makes him a cutie you want to binge on Firefly with any day of the week. For Willa, he will hopefully become her everything.

Let's face it, nothing is that easy. Willa's past has caught up to her. Will she crumble? Will she run? Will she let those around her lift her up and give her strength?

Small towns have their advantages. Close knit families can be annoying and everything. Carpentry and Cocktails has a pretty damsel in distress and a gorgeous knight in shining armor who wields a hammer better than Thor. All the excitement and family drama is wrapped up in an epilogue that left me beyond satisfied with the happily ever after.

Wow Everett Monroe where have you been all my life?
This book really just had everything I wanted in the characters.
Willa was a genuinely enjoyable character who was flawed and doubted her actions and the people around her but managed to work on, which is all anyone can do.
Everett was just everything you could look for in a lumberjack geek.
All these Monroes better be getting books because just the little hints of the other two brothers made me excited.

The epigraph on chapter 27 made me start sobbing so y'all have been warned! Everett is one the most precious cinnamon rolls I have ever read. This nerdy carpenter stole Willa and I's hearts. Willa was great also. So happy that she gets to have HEA with him.
Trigger Warnings: abuse: verbal, emotional, physical; stalking, panic attack, mention of a miscarriage, and mention of Alzheimer's

A cocoon romance that I loved to read : Willa and Everett were SO cute, I loved their relationship (especially the fact that Everett is waiting for Willa to take back the control of her life !!) and the whole drama with her violent ex ... <3
Anyway, once again a romance in Green Valley that makes me want to move there <3

Everett is perfection. A very tall, sexy man who works with his hands but is also a huge nerd. On top of working in the families carpentry business, he is opening a “gaming” store, where people can gather to play D&D and other RPG’s.
Willa is trying to start her life over. She grew up in a home with huge amounts of verbal & emotional abuse. Her mother is a mean, ugly woman who presents a rosy picture to the local town but at home, she is awful to her daughters. As a teen, Willa ran away with an older boy who continued the abuse.
After he ends up in prison, she comes home to restart her life.
Everett is such a huge cinnamon roll. In the past, women have rejected him for being “immature” because he collects action figures and is a big fan of certain franchises. When Willa moves into his basement apartment, he falls hard but understands that she is skittish. He calls her Willard and tries to keep things light, even though he longs for her.
This book was so good. There is a lot going on and a few things seemed odd. You get great info about Everett’s mom, but his dad is virtually invisible. The fact that the town suspects that Willa s mom is terrible but do nothing for her younger sister is irritating.
I cannot wait to see what happens with Barret.

Nerdy Heartache

Sweet sweet Everett! And Willa. Ohhhh Willa. I could relate to her sensitive heart so much. These two were so precious together.
