Absolute stunner. Couldn’t put it down!

If this book wasn’t by Ken follett I probably would have rated it higher. It didn’t feel up to the caliber of his other work I love so much. Solid story, good human interest, felt like a realistic possibility which is scary.

Loved the previous 3 books. This one seemed to have less magnetism about the story, more schematic. Interesting read, especially in context of what is now happening in the world (Ukraine, Georgia, south Korea). Sometimes even hard to read because of that. Nevertheless good work by Ken Follet.

Although thrilling and a true page turner, Ken Follet seems to focus a lot on the personal relationships of the characters without payoff. Space which could be filled with a deeper dive into the characters true thoughts and feeling

My last experience with a Ken Follett book left me feeling disappointed. This one, however, has all the markings of a good thriller. North Korea, South Korea, China and the USA, all involved, different characters and different stories. I also felt like he has a follow up book planned. We'll see.
