This book was fantastic. I found the world to be extremely interesting and thought the worldbuilding was very well done. The pacing, while slow, worked well for me and I enjoyed the ways the events and plot points unfolded. I thought Vis was an interesting enough character even though he’s a very typical fantasy main character—he was still fun to follow and I really admired his skills and physical prowess. He actually makes me inspired to stay fit physically and mentally.
All in all, this was a fun and intriguing book with a well thought-out world and I very much recommend it.

Oh my gosh. This took me awhile to get through and a lot of world building to understand but I cannot believe I have to wait till May to see what happens next. I loved how unique this was in the sci-fi/fantasy world (albeit similar to red rising but DEFINITELY different enough to be its own amazing thing) need more asap

I'm not going to sit here and pretend I understood everything and didn't have to look up an explanation for the ending lmao I got confused with several characters and def didn't fully grasp a good 20% of this book BUT i still REALLY enjoyed it
this has so many fantastic things - the characters, the amazing world that James Islington created, the amazing action sequences (very hunger games towards the end there), and also it was a great combination of very entertaining and fun, angst filled, and having me on the edge of my seat with the crazy plot twists and insanity Vis was going through.
I've seen reviews of people not liking Vis and finding him too OP/too perfect mc, which I definitely felt at the beginning, but by the end I really liked how many flaws we did get to learn about Vis.
Overall, really amazing, and I can't wait for the next book and thank goodness I waited to read this until book 2's release date was close by lol

I haven’t been in the mood to get into a series for a long time, but this one did it. And I wanted to give this a 4.5-4.75 since I really enjoyed it, but I felt lost a handful of times and that was frustrating. Now that I’ve finished it I will search the internet for answers to my questions and I’ll be ready to go in time for the next book.

The Will of the Many is one of the books, which I haven't read for ages because I was intimidated by it. Why? The size of this book for sure was one of the factors, but also after reading synopsis, I thought it would be a super complex book, and on top of it, one of the sci-fi ones.
Again, I was wrong!!
Yes, they are elements of sci-fi ( which I'm afraid of so much without any reason), but the story itself is just amazing, and now I know that this book deserves all the hype.
I know I'm not the only one who thought it's a typical adult epic fantasy, which you have to read with your full focus on and then find out that this book feels a bit more YA. Which was a nice surprise.
it's a fast-paced dark academia with amazing world building, character development, plot twists, trials, and great side characters.
Talking about characters ... MMC - Vis is one of the characters that will stay in your heart forever. I adored him for his bravery, determination, loyalty, and bloody sense of humour.
But then we have nicely wrapped up end of first instalment, which blew my mind!!! Massive cliffhanger, and now I'm not sure what to believe...
All i know is - I NEED 2ND BOOK 😱
