Incredibly beautiful artwork that lends itself perfectly to the horrific story behind it. Incredible adaptation.

A good concept, and clear intention behind the execution, but not enjoyable to read

Wow. I didn’t read the original novel before this and it is a brutal story. The graphic novel itself is very! well done- especially with the original story being so complicated. I especially enjoyed how the artist created a sense of time. It leaves me wondering if the things I loved about this version were all apart of the original work. Couldn’t help noticing that even though this is set in America almost all the people are drawn white... and there’s no discussion of race that would explain that.

Overall this is a disturbing but very interesting story. Adding art brings in a whole other emotional layer. I really recommend reading it as a graphic novel!
