This collection turned out to be exactly what I wanted from it - modern-day psalms, not in the kitchy manner of including modern concerns, but simply timeless and written by a modern man. So many of these spoke directly to me.

I read this in one sitting.

A book of relentlessly sublime poetry, it is the Belief of an Unbeliever, the Unbelief of a Believer. Beautitudes of a broken world. This book is beautiful, incomparable. I have nothing more to say: read it.

I found it was a touching but difficult read simply because I wasn't raised religious and the subject and themes are too foreign to me
