I loved this book, it's one of my new favorites!! The twists and turns, the battles, everything. The first book I honestly didn't like all that much but this one more then makes up for it! If you're looking for a book with Battle, plot twists, and a 3-way war this is thw book for you!

I swear this book gets better every time I read it.

The intrigue.
The slight of hand.
The glory of being in the know.
The raw fury at the gods.
The uncomfortable reality that the gods know us so well.

It's comforting. It's challenging. It's a good time.

I put off reading this book for so long because I did not enjoy the first book. I had heard that the rest of the series was much better than the first book and had a different tone, but it was just... eh. I wasn't ready to jump into it. BIG MISTAKE. This book was SO good, um... wow???

I don't know how to express it properly, so this might be a bit of a mess. The characters, the world, and the relationships between characters are expanded. The unreliable narrator plays a huge role in this book too (and all of the books... Gen lies, that's the theme of the series, I think). You will think the story and the book are going one way and then halfway through everything changes, which is both shocking and amazing.

The whole book is great, the second half is perfect!

I haven't yet, but I am looking forward to re-reading this book because I know how I perceive what is happening will be completely different, which is so cool.

I loved this book and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Such great characters and such a great plot. This story is the best I've ever read in a long time. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. I recommend this whole series to anyone who wants a wonderfully constructed story with a wonderfully constructed world.

Reread (2023): I forgot how good this is.
