I am so glad I'm finally finished with this book. Every word, character, and event was exhausting.

What an interesting reading experience! Something about Theo's narration - I can't put my finger on exactly what - seemed to keep me at a distance a lot of the time, yet at other times I was moved to the point of physical heartache. Overall I did enjoy the story, and even in the first 200 or so pages when I wasn't really feeling it at all, something kept pulling me back. It wasn't a chore to read despite being almost 900 pages. It's no The Secret History for me, but entertaining and thought-provoking all the same.

my love for this book does not falter, i find myself thinking of this book often even months after reading, and still feeling just as deeply about it as when i first read it

i feel so much for theo and everything he went through following his mums death and over the course of the whole novel
boris is my favourite ever i cried the most on pages where he was, out of love and sadness and happiness and everything i just 😞💗

literally sobbedat multiple points in this book, i reread my favourite parts whenever i want to feel something

i don’t have the words to fully express my thoughts but in simple words this is my favourite book and i love it immeasurably

My head felt mostly empty while reading this. Tartt’s prose in this in so good but my god does the story just drag and drag on. Most of the time, nothing really happens.

Although this book felt like it dragged at times, it was all worth it to meet Boris.
