I actually really enjoyed this book! I guessed what would happen in the end but that's always what it's like in these sort of books

This is one of my favourite books that I've read in 2016. It was very well-written. The characters are amazing. They are all well-developed and engaging to read. I got to see each of characters victories and defeats. My favourite characters are Magnus and Cleo. I found the story engaging and thrilling. I was wondering what would happen next in the story. Can't wait to read the second book and the rest of the series. Hopefully, there will be some short stories to further understand the characters. This will definitely be a book that I will always re-read. Overall, an amazing read.

That was fun! As a fan of the high fantasy genre, this one met my expectations.

The author managed to make me care about the characters just from the first installment, while i still don't know which side of the war i'm rooting for, all i can say is that the characters were equally likeable and frustrating at the same time.

Nothing exceptional about the plot but it was fast paced and i was entertained thoroughly, i'm looking forward to delve into this series.

Notes from when I was reading:

- so far, a bunch of telling rather than showing
- Aron is insufferable.
- Everyone, including the adults, feels immature.
- that weird thing with Magnus and Lucia feels unnecessary. Like seriously, what was the point of having that in the plot?
- and later in the story with Magnus and Sabina - WHY? WHYYYY? I hate it.

Not sure if I want to continue reading the series...

i read this book in a day because i loved it so much. it was very easy to get into and i was immediately engulfed in the world and the characters. my favorite is cleo and i think the ending was frustrating but i like the plot it's really good (i'm writing this review having the read the other two books that are out so far) i like jonas even though he kinda hates cleo ,my baby, but he'll fall in love with her. i hate magnus. i hated him in this book and the other two.
