Somehow I liked all the characters a lot less in this. Apart from the bromance between Jason and Percy only other characters had weird stilted interactions. Leo and Frank well especially annoying in the spook. Hazel was a very good female character who is just ruined by getting involved in this strange love triangle which makes no sense whatsoever and simply serve to make all three characters annoying. Perhaps it is also because these are children's books after all all the problems in the book seem to be solved by people suddenly gaining superpowers or suddenly being helped out by vastly superior beings or just not having any real problems with the bad guys. This makes for a very lackluster vide because it feels like a build up to nothing perhaps the novelty of these books are are simply wearing off now.

I’m giving 4 stars cause it did take me a hot minute to get into it. But when I did man I flew through it! Plot was good, but starting to get a little predictable. Definitely got me out of my reading slump, excited for the next one!

Percabeth reunion -> chef's kiss, we love
Leo, Piper, and Jason are back, and the seven are going on a deadly road trip.
Spiders are getting a feature, I hate spiders, but I'm down for the sake of the plot.
The end broke me. This is setting up a lot of pain and angst for the next book (which I love).
Percy and Annabeth's last scene in this book has restored my faith in love.

Got a little slow in the middle, but the last quarter or more made it worth it. So fun to see everyone working together, and what all the different group dynamics were
