I honestly don't know why the reviews for this are so good. I disliked the main character. I have no idea how this man would be anyones type considering how he presents himself and talks/thinks about women. I was surprised that the book is written out of the man's pov, but thought it would be okay, considering a female author wrote it - how I was wrong. I'm not a fan of age gaps, and considering that he is 36 and the first women he meets on a night out - and has really lustering/creepy thoughts about her - just barely turned 21. I can't. It went on like this for a while, I can imagine the plot actually gets better, but I'm not staying to find out. Sorry. dnf.

It’s not as good as it’s hyped up to be. The main character focuses way too much on the age of his love interest which often makes it really weird and creepy. She’s of legal age but his constant comments about how young she is gets really weird. The constant mentioning of God is a lot. Often during sex scenes and all scenes actually. I didn’t care for the ending honestly I wish they would have went there separate ways.

I know I said Priest was amazing, but somehow Sinner is even better. I related to Sean and Zenny  a lot more than Tyler and Poppy, I guess thats because I’m no longer religious despite being the daughter and granddaughter of ministers? Either way the spice is incredible and damn it I definitely have a teacher/student kink 😅

Well - I enjoyed this one 100X more than Priest! And it made me CRY, damn you...what kind of erotic romance book makes a gal cry?!

Major TWs not related to the main couple, but are a significant plot point:
Mama Bell's terminal cancer diagnosis, her subsequent treatment/palliative care, ending with her death
. Having this element really helped round out Sean's character development and seemed much more fulsome than Tyler's character arc in Priest.

Where I found Priest straight-up erotica, I felt there was a more nuanced approach to the 'romantic' elements with the relationship between Sean & Zenny. While it was still definitely an insta-love(lust) situation, incorporating the teacher/student helped cement their relationship for me.

I could really relate to Sean as a character, his view on religion is more similar to mine as he is very aware of its flaws and understands how difficult it is to have faith when the world is so full of horrible events and people. I also think that Zenny didn't try to push him into Christianity and was extremely patient and kind with him in the regards, as he was with her as she explored her sexuality. I was extremely worried about the ending and was so sure it was going to upset me but I think it was very satisfying. All in all I really liked the book and finished it in a day.
