I’ve heard so many good things about the infernal devices from my friends but I think the eldest curses will have to be my next books because I’ve waited long enough for them I think.

I felt this was definitely epic in proportions and so much happened but I did feel a lesser connection to what was happening and found myself being not as compelled to pick it up. I think it may have been because I blended read the first few books and appreciated taking the words in as I listened, but just listening this time round (and the 5th book) felt too overwhelming for the amount of plot development that evolved.
That being said, I was still super invested and when events were unfolding in the demon realms my heart felt like it was in my throat.
Simon did the damn thing and I've never felt myself clench in anticipation and worry so much whilst reading something!
The last 20% really took off and despite me not feeling really secured in how everything had got to the point, I was still here for the ride.
A fantastic journey this has been, finally picking up The Mortal Instruments over these last couple months! Onto the next series set in the world of the Shadowhunters, relatively soon, I hope!
