I was intrigued by the confessional feeling of the prose, getting to hear the history of this woman and how she is reflecting on her life and decisions. The conclusion was unexpected, but I felt a bid disconnected and had to really think how all the threads were or were not connected.

Verrrryyy slow to start, but the ending is worth it. More thought provoking than thriller. The translation could have used less clunky or off-putting phrasing. It wasn’t offensive, but rode the line of what I believed a character would respond positively to. Definitely pulled me out of the story to think about what word choice I would have picked instead. Her plucky friend was my favorite part :)

This is the first time I haven't finished a book, but it's just that the story doesn't catch me at all. I was expecting a suspense and mystery thriller and I'm not finding anything like that, on the contrary it's getting very boring and my head starts to hurt because of how much I'm forcing myself to finish it but it's not going to be. I hate to give up on books but with this one I can't keep reading.
Many thanks to NetGalley and HarpiaVia for the advanced copy of this book.

I didn't expect to love this book quite the way I did, but it grabbed my attention immediately and held it. It's emotional in a very honest way and while I started to see it coming the ending still sort-of surprised me. I want to read it again now that I know what is happening

Kind of wild - I was digging it 'till the main character was a bitch, I probably should have seen the end coming.. but it was a good ending, maybe a little quick on the wrap-up, but good! :) Good beach read tbh.

Pretty good book. It felt a bit clunky but I think that's because it's a translated work. I really loved the twist at the end.

2.5✨ This book was tedious and rambling but at times really interesting and moving. This is not a likable narrator and it “reads like a therapy session” as another reviewer stated. I had purchased it on sale as an audiobook without knowing much about it and I’m not mad about that but I won’t be rereading in the future.

My favorite part of this read were the themes and ideas presented in this short story. I felt like the end was rushed and I could pick up on what the “big plot twist” ending was going to be around halfway through the book. Not a huge fan of how the book jumps around randomly in time and found that to be confusing and, at times, frustrating to follow. Overall, I feel unsatisfied with the ending, character development, and conclusions upon finishing.
