This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Thank you to Bookouture for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via netgalley. I have bee following Gina Harte's books since the beginning and I couldn't wait to see what happened in this next instalment.

This book became quite personal for Gina and it was interesting to see her open up a little more about her past. Gina has been to hell and back in her past but she survived and while she may not ever be over it she is a strong woman.

I won't go into too much detail on the story but it was fascinating to see how some people live and how they are so very different in their personal and professional lives.

Carla once again had me on the edge of my seat. This book had some real heart-stopping moments. The last 20% I didn't put the book down for anything because I just had to keep reading. My heart was racing.

I really enjoyed the epilogue of this book and I do hope that Gina will reconnect with her daughter at some point.

It’s so good to be back to this series and the familiar team and characters. This is book four in the Detective Gina Harte series, best read in order but okay as standalones, as each are different.
Yet again no slow beginnings here we are faced with a brutal murder of Samantha from the start! Another brilliantly written, fast paced, thrilling, page turner and gripping of a read. It had me suspecting, not trusting and interrogating everyone! There are far too many hidden secrets that have to be uncovered.
I have been with this series from the start and it is just getting better and better with each book. I do hope there will be a book five. Fingers crossed. Highly recommend. A well deserved four stars from me. A brilliant series.

Easy to read, fast-paced suspenseful story featuring Detective Gina Harte. I enjoyed the parts about Gina's life and personal history. I think this helps the reader to feel invested and connected to her. I just wish we had more backstory and fleshing out of the other characters. The story in this one was thrilling and featured the usual expected twists and turns. I'll be continuing this series.

Another great book, really enjoyed this series so far, can't wait for the next one to be releeced. I have enjoyed all the books in this series and again I never figured out who the killer was. I like these types of books when I am not able to figure it out.

This is book 4 in the Gina Harte series. I’ve read book 3 but definitely need to pick up 1 & 2. I’m really enjoying this series and what to get to know Gina more. This can be read as a standalone though. I love Gina and I love that she’s not a perfect person and we get to see how her anxiety affects her day to day. We also learn more about her past and what caused the anxiety which helped me connect to her more.

This book is quite the rollercoaster. The nail that is sent to Samantha’s best friend provides a link between her disappearance and Jade's murder but there doesn’t seem to be any other link between them. Every time I thought I had worked out who it was more information came up and I started to question everything. It really did keep me guessing. I was hooked and could not put it down.

Yay - Gina Harte is back! I am such a big fan of this series by Carla Kovach and am already eagerly awaiting book 5. The Liar's House is book 4 and the series just keeps getting better. I think I have said it before but if you have not read this series - why not!!! It is easily one of my favourite British police procedural series, up there with Angela Marsons Kim Stone books. The cases are complex and twisty, keeping you guessing until the end.

This time we see Gina and her team called to the scene of the murder of Jade Ashmore, a young mother on her way home from a party (that we later learn is a swingers party). There is very little to go on to catch this killer. That is until one of her fingernails is sent to a woman a few streets away. The colour matches that of her friend Samantha's - a woman who went missing 7 years ago. As the investigation goes along, Gina discovers that one of the party attendees was a man called Stephen - who happens to be the brother of her deceased ex husband. She struggles to put way her memories and demons from her life with Terry and it threatens to destroy her career.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for my advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own and are in no way biased.

Histoire policière bien classique avec une fin que j’ai partiellement deviné.

Par contre, j’aimerais que ce ne soit pas que des femmes qui meurent
