Definitely became one of my favourite books! A lovely book full of lovely people. I loved following each character but Amy has to be my favourite as I most related to her

This book gave me that feeling you get when you snuggle up on the couch on a cold winters day. It was warm-hearted and felt like a hug in book form. I love how it celebrates the relationship the sisters have with one other. Throughout the book I really felt like I knew and understood all of the characters well (except Amy, her superficialty was annoying). My one critique is that at times the book felt preachy and the lessons from the mother felt obvious and drawn out. Overall it is such a lovely book and I can't wait to read part 2!

I first read this book when I was 11, and remember going to find my mom and sobbing whilst reading to her the scene following Beth's death. Revisiting it 11 years later was nothing short of wonderful. Call it nostalgia-bias or whatever, and you'd be right. But this book is a classic and will always be dear to my heart.

Maturing is realizing that Jo and Laurie were really not meant for each other and will not make it as a couple in the long run. She would’ve settled and he did not deserve a love like that. They were better as friends. And Laurie ending up with Amy made sense. It was still painful to read, but now I made my peace with it. What a ride.
