Wild Invitation, A Psy-Changling Collection, by Nalini Singh

Overall Grade: B+

“I just need you-all of you- so much that I’m going crazy. I need your laugh. I need you company. I need you to sleep beside me and I need you to wake when I wake. I need you with everything in me.”

What a great collection of short stories about some of the favorite side characters in the Psy-Changeling series. I highly recommend that you read the books of this series in order and have read all of the books so far in order to understand who everyone is and what is going on so you aren’t completely lost. Once again Nalini Singh pulls you into the magical worlds of this series and like always I never wanted the book to end.

Beast of Temptation: A

Beast of Temptation goes back a long ways and is the story of Tamsyn, aka Tammy, and Nathan who are part of the DarkRiver pack. I have loved this couple for a while and was thrilled to see how they mated. Theirs is by far the best out of the four and is so good that I just has to re-read it.

Stroke of Enticement: B+

This is a very, very short story about the mating of Zach and Annie also of the DarkRiver pack. It is a very short, very quick read and I wish that we could have seen a little more of them. I always love seeing the males courting the women especially the humans who have no idea how to react to this dominant men and their cats or wolves.

Declaration of Courtship: B+

I wasn’t as familiar with Grace and Cooper except for the last book Tangle of Need. This was my second favorite out of the four and I loved that it showed a mating between a dominant wolf and a submissive. I liked seeing how these two worked out their problems that only had to do with their wolves. I liked Grace and Cooper so much I wish they had had their own full length book.

Texture of Intimacy: B-

This was my least favorite out of the four and shows us more of the mating between Psy Walker and Changeling Lara. Texture of Intimacy was much different from the other three as the couple is already mated but they are still working out their problems. I felt that this setup more for future books and wasn’t so much about Walker and Lara. It definitely had less romance than the other three which made it much harder for me to read.

All in all one of the best collections of short stories from a series I have read in awhile. I highly recommend this book to any fan of the Psy-Changeling series.

4 stars

This anthology contained 4 short stories set in the Psy/changling world. Two of which are brand new

In Beat of Temptation 4 stars
DarkRiver healer Tamsyn has always had a place in her heart for Nathan, a sentinel. But he's 10 years her senior and its been hard waiting for her to grow up.
I like this story and I think it's cute. My favorite is the pieces that we get to see of the younger generation, Lucas and Dorian etc.

In Stroke of Enticement 4 stars
Annie a wary young teacher, skeptical about love, arouses the man—and the animal—in an aggressive leopard changeling who must prove his affections are true.
I like Annie and Zach. I was happy that they gotten mentioned in one of the other stories.

In Declaration of Courtship 5 stars
Grace, a shy submissive wolf, finds herself pursued by the last man she ever would have imagined: Cooper, a SnowDancer lieutenant.
This one ended up being my favorite of all the stories. I had seen the issue of extreme submissive vs dominance. It was really cool plus I liked Grace and Cooper.

In Texture of Intimacy 4.5 stars
SnowDancer healer Lara discovers the searing joys—and unexpected challenges—of being mated to quiet, powerful Walker, a man used to keeping his silence.
The only thing that I wish happened more in this story was that there was a bit more plot. The whole was a like little vignettes about Walker and Lara together, which was nice. But I really wanted a story with a solvable problem.

There are some authors that go overboard with multiple series set in the same world, but I honestly don't think I could ever get tired of this incredible world that Nalini has created. Just when I think I couldn't like it more, Nalini proves me wrong and makes me fall in love with it all over again.

I am truly sad that I am now done with this series. I think I loved the Anthologies the best at the end, it was awesome to be in the world that gave me so many hours of listening awesomeness.

I wasn’t looking forward to these and yet I devoured them faster than most of the books. I never wanted to pause.

Loved the narration again I know that is me being a broken record but I did.

I adore this series! I am such a sucker, even in the first story - a prequel to which I knew the outcome already - had me on the edge of my seat. Vivid characters, fascinating world and just an all round pleasure to read. CANNOT FREAKING WAIT for Heart of Obsidian. December is so far away...
