I know this is an earlier work of Clarissa’s but honestly this just didn’t hit for me. The MMC tried to be “dark” all while kind of being weird and forcing this nonchalance about life. Plus it was laughable about him being a “rapper”. I was dying of laughter because - what?? Idk it was all very jumbled and unbelievable and just isn’t the “cruel” boy we all think about.

Although I typically like books by this author, this one just was not my favorite. The dialogue and storyline aren’t great, and Nate literally did nothing to show that he cared for Sam in the slightest.

This book kept me up all night. Once I started, I couldn’t stop, and before I knew it, it was some crazy hour, I was rubbing my gritty eyes, and asking myself what exactly had happened?
Nate & Sam are both facing their own battles, but they’re also locked in a battle of wills amongst themselves.
Nate is resorting to becoming someone that he isn’t ordinarily, for fear of what will end up happening to him.
And Sam, at the wrong place, at the wrong time, is so deeply entrenched in the secret that is tearing his world apart.
Sam is a star, because although she doesn’t want the spotlight, and she isn’t interested in dealing with the madness, she continues to push back, refusing to accept defeat. I love this.
The secret? Blew my mind, and it will yours as well.

Freaking amazing!! Wow the twists and turns I never saw coming, it was crazy. This book...gosh I sat and read it in one go, then had to gather myself to be able to tell y'all about how awesome this book is. The main characters are an unholy mess. That's all there is to it. Nate the biggest mess of all, but even though he has his issues, you still what to root for him.
The book was very well thought, and plotted out, and I wish this would be a series because honestly I can't get enough. The world is of the rich and elite kids, and having seen that kind of life growing up, I know how messy it can get. This is a top tier world, and we just get a glimpse. It's told in dual pov which is great for this type of book, and the twist and turns. It helps you understand the characters way better than just a single pov or third person. I can't recommend this book enough if you like bully romances.
