Not my vibe, but that’s what you get sometimes going into a story completely blind
It's hard to find words for this one. As I described it to my husband, his response was: that sounds interesting and I never want to read it. That's kind of how I felt as I made my way through the book. I don't want to give away the premise, as it will come as a nauseous surprise, just go into this one ready to cringe.
I also have to add: although this looks like a children's book, it is MOST decidedly NOT a children's book! I'm sure you can get that from the publisher's description, but just to put a finer point on it.

Read this book for the vibes. Overall this feels like an illustrated, old version of a European fairytale. The plot is sparse and there's not much in the way of character development. The illustration style - reminiscent of children's books - reinforces this feeling. If you like things a little dark or a little morbid or lightly eerie, then this is a book for you.
