I have mixed feelings about this book.

On the one hand, I feel that Sebastian and Perry’s story came too late to hold my interest. They were introduced very early on and by the time we’re get around to ‘Peregrine’, we’re into stories about siblings who never appear before. So in that respect I wish it was sooner.

That said, I understand why it was held off until later. It makes more sense for this story to be explored at this point because of where the series goes next.

It felt quite long though and the setup for later books really tanked my enjoyment. I found that particular situation irritating and it made me not want to keep reading. I did eventually finish and the end was nice but it felt like a slog.

4.5 stars!
I received an ARC from GRR and this is my honest review.

I am a BIG fan of this series.#TeamEverard all the way! And #TeamHugh because FUNFETTI!!
and after reading Peregerine... I am definitely #TeamSebastian because he was SWOONY AF!

See, the big stoic brash Seb turned out to be the most romantic Drake ever, and I ate that sh!t up.

What I loved...
The characters..
- Seb: He is a big alpha dragon who had got a big mushy center and i loved it! he was such a sap for Perry and their kids. Perry had him wrapped around his little finger and it was so sweet to say Seb melt in front of him time and time again. #SuckerForYou

- Perry: He is a resilient, strong omega in a tiny fearless package. He had gone through so much but never let anything put him down. he really is the glue for all of the Drakes, dragons and mates alike, and he deserves this position wholeheartedly. #DontLetTheStatureFoolYou

The Plot:
We finally know what's up with Perry!! This is a take on a problem many people around the world suffer from and it was handled beautifully. there is also something lurking in the shadows something that has been following them since the moment they met. #OnMyToes

The Romance:
We get flashbacks and present day, and we get to travel back in time to when Seb met Perry, fell madly in love and found his mate. These guys are so in love, so sweet and so meant to be. They didn't care what society thought or who they were, they only cared about each other. #MeantToBe

Steam-o-meter: Steamy! #Hawt

Angst-o-meter: medium angst, not between our MCs! #TogetherNoMatterWhat

HEA: Perry and Seb finally get their full HEA, the one they deserve! #AtLast

Loved the ending

It ended so wonderfully happy! Getting there was difficult though. I liked the back and forth through time and getting to see Sebastian and Perry’s beginnings. There was perhaps a little too much sex as it seemed to be an encounter every chapter. However I look forward to the conclusion of the series and answers as to who Raven is.

Oh my heart! Perry is a treasure!

This is one of my favourite series and each book goes from strength to strength.

Perry has always been a sunny, strong and beautiful character and getting to know him better is a wonderful treat. Heed the trigger warnings as this story might just rip your head out but thankfully Piper and Lynn give us insite into Perry and Sebastian and brings hope and love full circle for a beautiful HEA!

I loved getting to know Sebastian Drake. He's always been a somewhat gruff and protective alpha but seeing his journey with Perry was beautiful and his heart, oh my! While not on with words his faith and love for Perry knows no bounds and their bond is magical!

Perry really is the glue if the family and the HEA is full of so much love I couldn't help but tear up. I love Perry even more and he is now one of my all time favourite characters.

This is an amazing series and I recommend it wholeheartedly! I can't wait for more and feel there is so much set up intrigue 500years in the making for the next book!! I can't wait!!!

I DNF’d this book. I didn’t like the past aspect of the story, but was willing to overlook it. However, it went back and forth between past and present each chapter which I despised. I know these characters, as I have been reading about them for 6 books now. I don’t need to know their origin story. It’s not needed. I’m it sure I will read the rest of this series. I’m not to interested in the storyline for Bramford with his omega. It doesn’t make much sense in the snippets we have gleaned from previous books and it’s two books, which I’m not thrilled about.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I loved this book. I loved getting the background into how Sebastian “Seb” and Peregrine “Perry” met and it was really heartbreaking seeing all the pain and loss both Perry and Seb have dealt with over the 500+ years that they’ve been mated. I loved the connection between Seb and Perry and it was awesome to see how much they both love each other, as like it was mentioned in this book Seb is a silent type but it’s totally obvious that they love and care about each other a lot as they’re mates, but I loved getting to experience Seb’s softer side since he only shows it to Perry and his children. Wow, it was awesome seeing how much the Alister, Everard and Seb have evolved since the 1500s especially how they treat disgraces, they’re no longer called disgraces but dragonets. I just realised that Everard also calls Perry either Perry or Peregrine all the time  and it was funny to see the reason why as he usually calls Harry different pet names, usually food related as it’s his thing. Man, the situation with Raven going after the Drakes omegas and children is crazy and I’m guessing that he’s the omega that Bertram had a clutch with before Seb and Perry had theirs and that getting his clutch taken off him made him go mad, instead of the usual egg sickness if the omega stays with the clutch so they were previous taken off the omega straight away to avoid bonding to the clutch. I wonder if they’re mates since Bertram stopped Raven from being killed by Seb after he’d broken into their secure home and held Perry at knife point and wanted to kidnap him so when he’d give birth he’d take Perry and Seb’s dragonet. He’d also done other bad things to Drake family over the years. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series to find out what happens and why Raven has done what he’s done. I’ve got my fingers crossed that the authors eventually decide to write a next generation Forbidden Desires Series spin-off as I’d happily read any books from this universe. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and authors to everyone.

Peregrine is the fourth book in the Forbidden Desires Spin-Off series and as such offers a lot of answers that previous books brought up, but also brings up a few more questions.

Content warnings include: violence, injury, miscarriage, pregnancy and birth, a/b/o setting featuring mpreg in shifter context, sex on-page, discrimination.

There were quite a few things that set up the plot for Peregrine, as both Sebastian and Perry have appeared in not insignificant roles in the series as early as in [b:Clutch|42208487|Clutch (Forbidden Desires, #1)|Piper Scott|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1538971431l/42208487._SY75_.jpg|65561580]. It's plot was therefore set up already, as several of the previous books in the Spin-Off series have hinted at something going on with Perry.

But the book also offers some firsts: there is a dual-timeline plot! We not only get to read about the issues and tensions plaguing the couple in the present day, but also see how they met half a millenia ago.
Both timelines were interesting and had their separate arcs, but frequently overlapped as well, weaving back and forth and spinning an interesting plot that spans not only centuries, but also ties in with events in the rest of the series.
Of course it also set up for the last book, [b:Raven|58188802|Raven (A Forbidden Desires Spin-Off, #5)|Piper Scott|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1622235747l/58188802._SY75_.jpg|91208472], and I for one can't wait for the finale to the story of the Drake family!

Speaking of, I loved all the cameos from well known family members. Pretty much everyone appeared sooner or later. If anything, I would have loved to see more of all the children, but with the sheer amount of them around now I can see why they didn't get too much on-page time - they caused enough chaos as it was.

The dynamic between Perry and Sebastian was lovely, and I enjoyed them as a couple, even if there wasn't much development or change between them across the centuries. On the one hand, I wish there had been some more character development, but on the other I appreciated how steady they were together, never doubting each other or their relationship, and therefore also not having any third-act-breakup drama.

Lastly, of course there was a well-loved family pet. I'm not gonna say what sort of pet, but it was a delighful addition!

I received an ARC and reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

What an utterly enchanting addition to the Forbidden Desires series. Sebastian and Peregrine's story is true love at it's finest. The utter devotion between these two is what makes a romance so magical. There were so many moments of feels. From our previous glimpses of Sebastian I did not expect him to be such a doting mate. Perry is one lucky omega to have fallen for him.

" Anything for you, Perry...You've given me everything. I can only dream that one day I'll be able to pass back a fraction of the happiness you've brought me."

And that is only one of MANY swoonworthy moments between these two. I loved how the story was told in flashbacks to the past where we get to see how Sebastian and Perry met. Remember, they have been together for over 500 years so things were much different back then. It was lovely seeing Perry slowly come to trust Sebastian that he was going to keep him forever. After what Perry's life was like in his cloister it was an impossible dream for him to be rescued by a dragon as wonderful as Sebastian. It was also heartbreaking at times when they would go through loss. Pay attention to the trigger warnings at the start. If miscarriage is a trigger for you, it is very present in this book and I would not recommend it for those who have a hard time with this trigger.

Sebastian never wavered. He was Perry's rock, and he treated Perry like his most precious treasure. Even when Perry would have doubts in the start, he didn't doubt for long because Sebastian would do something to prove to him how much he was loved. It was such a beautiful relationship and continued to be just as amazing even after all the time they have been together.

" If I were to explain how much I love you, Sebastian Drake...I would have to speak without end for every second that remains of our very long lives, and even then it wouldn't be long enough."

The ending was just perfect. Through every book in this universe Perry has always been the kind soul who helps whenever he can. When he sees someone suffering he does as much as he can to ease their burdens. He is an integral part of the backbone of the Drake family and I loved how it all came together to show him how appreciative the family was of him. This book is by far my favorite in the series and I can tell you now it was worth waiting for.

One of my favourites so far!

This series has a lot going for it, I recommend reading it all. In this one there's a lot of emotional moments, good and bad, as well as some funny ones in the usual style for this series. I love Perry and Sebastian, they are so cute and I was crying along with them.

Loved the characters and story. This one is told both in the past how they met and the future and it works really well.
