I “read” this book on Audible which is admittedly not the best format for poetry. Nonetheless his words were a balm and an invite to reflect on the current environment within America, my place in this, and my responsibility. This book isn’t going to teach you about what’s going on today nor is it a history lesson, rather, be prepared for the words to till the soil in your heart as you consider privilege, racism, and violence in our country.

This was lovely to listen to all in one sitting. It's read by the author, and I loved hearing his voice reading his words.

This is a moving collection about figuring out who we are, where we fit in, and what country and heritage and history mean.
