I give this book a 4.5 for I am not one who seeks out eroticas. I enjoyed this book because the plot line, not the sex part, was very intense. Catelyn's parents were murdered in front of her eyes when she was fifteen. She called the cops in time to save her but not her parents. This man touched her and mainly told her that he will be coming for her. He is the Midnight Murderer. After several years while Catelyn is in college he reapers to threaten her life.

On top of this Catelyn is struggling to make it through college and surviving. Money is low and so she turns to a sex operator position. She doesn't like it, but she needs money. Her best friend Bridgette is rich and upper crust, but Catelyn refuses to take money from her friend. So she turns to the sex line and has the nickname of Cat.

The cherry on top of all of this is Ash, Ashton Davenport the rich man. Catelyn doesn't really like him at first and finds him annoying. She also doesn't want to get involved with anyone because her life is so messed up. But Ash is persistent though he is falling for Cat, Catelyn's sex operator name. Ash called her and instead of wanting the usual he just wants to talk.

Catelyn has to juggle her double identity around and conceal that. She has to deal with the murderer from her past and she must also find this book that her mother wrote so the murderer will maybe leave her alone. But she doesn't know where this book is! Catelyn is having a rough time juggling all of these things and then there's Ash. Dangerous Ash, been to prison Ash, been to prison because of Catelyn's mom, Ash.

There are step-by-step sex scenes because this is an erotica and so therefore that states it all. Catelyn is also a sex operator. So be aware of this and that there is cussing in it. Also CLIFF HANGER! After I finished this book I was desperate to get the next one. Because I wanted to know what happens next in her life. And no not about her sex life. The authors leave a cliff hanger that makes you want to rush out and get the next one.

"One is such a lonely number." quote from the Midnight Murderer

I got this book for free through Bookbub and their wonderful deals!

As much as I 70% liked the story, the characters were hard to grasp, the big deals were all predictable, and then the writing looked like it had never been edited/proofread/ second drafted...

Lux wrote that one of her character's voices was horse...

I do want to figure out who's the perpetrator of all of Catelyn's troubles however, to find that out, I have to read the sequels and I probably won't be doing that for a little while. I have other books I want to read.

*Goodreads Giveaway Book*

I liked the romance aspect because she wasn't this character that immediately fell fro the bad boy. There may have been some underlying attraction, but it wasn't obvious. I liked the whole phone sex operator thing, but it got a little weird sometimes. But I liked her relationship with Ash as Cat. I was annoyed at the cliffhanger. I would recommend this to any romance or erotica lovers.

Honestly I give this book 3.5 stars. I really enjoyed it, but it's not quite a 4 star read...I try to be fair with my stars.

On to the review-I downloaded this book because it was listed in one of the freebie/cheap reads discussions, not really expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. The main character Catelyn is in law school at Harvard and really struggling financially. She has no help because her parents were brutally murdered when she was a teen. To bring in some extra cash she decides to work at a phone sex operator. Add in the fact that her parents' killer keeps contacting her and a hot boy and you've got a great read. There are some things I rolled my eyes at but overall I like this one enough to want to pay for the next two parts. I've got some suspicions and I need to find out how things pan out.

Bottom line: I recommend and it's free so why not??

HOLY SHITBALLS! This book had so many insane twists and turns, some predictable but others completely out of left field! AMAZING! General warning, the book ends on a HUGE cliffhanger.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Anyone that knows me well knows that I am NOT a romance reader. The only time I ever read anything with a romantic tone is if there's more going on to the story. When I heard this trilogy was going to have a mystery twist to it then I was in! :) AND it did not disappoint. I found myself completely engaged in the story and would have read it in 1 sitting had not my bed called out to me for sleep! I LOVED the mystery line of this story and I cannot wait to find out what happens next. I wasn't even mad at the cliffhanger because I loved what I had read so much so far...and it helps that the next book is coming very soon!
This book definitely has a lot of HOT, naughty moments that are not appropriate for kiddies...and you may want to read it alone if you tend to blush at things like that. Overall, I think it had the perfect mix of a great story line with interesting characters that you want to root for with a hint of naughtiness for those who like their stories with a little spice...or a lot. ;) I have never read any of the "50 Shades of Grey" books because I've heard the writing is not very well done...and again, I like more story with my naughty....I think THIS trilogy could give THAT series a run for its money in naughtiness mixed with EXCELLENT writing and an intriguing story line that is actually believable! Karpov Kinrade has written another hit! :D
