They ending was wild and surprised me to no end, I'm still feeling from it! There were parts scattered throughout that made me need to put the book down and contemplate what I had just read, it's definitely a good book that had me hooked through the entire thing.

My father worked in a meeting packing plant and held a position not far off from Marco’s, he had this job for over 20 years so the visuals were easy for me.

This book was so phenomenally written I would OFTEN forget that the “head” was HUMAN, until Marcos so often reminded me, these are human beings. “Meat without a first and last name” I enjoyed walking through the plant, the world building was wonderful. I felt for Marcos, I related to his story, how hard loss is.

What I should have had a better sense of was his love of family and his wife. I didn’t so much “skip” as I didn’t put stick into the relationship he had with his wife.

When I finished I was alone and audibly said “THATS THE END OF THE BOOK” as my kindle prompted me to rate the book. Wow. What a book. Believe the hype

I think this was a typical case of a good concept that died on execution. It is disturbing, but only because the subject matter deals with cannibalism, not because of anything else regarding the story or the way it unfolds.

There is some character development, but it all happens during the 8 months between part 1 and part 2 that we don't get to see. Most of part 2 is just dealing with the fallout of the character change of Marcos, and I felt like we were about to reach a climax with his social interactions when the book just ended.
