The writing style annoyed me so much with the constant use of the word “preternatural” and it’s kinda silly but I didn’t like how every paragraph started with a quotation mark

Let it be known I did not read all 1200 pages! I only read Interview with the Vampire and the beginning of The Vampire Lestat.

Honestly, I really liked it! I've never read the book before, but I've seen the movie numerous times. I personally love the film, as do many others tbh. I had a feeling the book would be different. I'm honestly surprised the movie was close to the book, but there were obviously some differences. I do really enjoy the book, and I'm actually glad that I finally got around to it. I hope to read the other 2 books soon, but I do recommend reading the first one! It's iconic!

To be honest, I almost DNF'd this book. It started out slow and felt like it was trying too hard to be like Frankenstein.

But I'm glad I stuck it through because I ended up loving it! I really love Louis and Claudia. I felt for them both in their heartaches in dealing with immortality as they are. Now to finally see the movie lol.

Yep, still didn't like it and couldn't get into the prose or find commonality or understanding for the characters.

Classic and the best vampire novels of all time! Anna rice is such a good writer that makes you fall in love with the characters. I don’t know how else to describe these novel other than this is what started the vampire trend and in my opinion on the top list of best every novels written, so much I’ve read them more than once!

Louis is a little whiney and it's not gripping me. It's kind of bland. Next try I'm giving it until page 150 if by then I'm not invested it's never happening

These books were definitely a huge part of my late teens. Anne Rice does an excellent job of making the settings and surroundings feel whole. You end up in a love-hate relationship with Lestat, He is obnoxious and selfish but wants love more than anything else in the world.
