for some reason i absolutely loved this book. i found belly to be a little annoying but i forgot she’s 16 in this book and 16 year olds are not the most — well put people. i am rooting for conrad. i WILL be finishing the series and i WILL watch the tv show

This book holds so much nostalgia for me. This series was my favorite when I was younger, of course watching the show had me revisiting these books. I listened to them on audible because Lola Tung is the narrator and I still love them. I loved the ending of this one, I can’t believe I forgot all about it. It’s been years since I read these books but they still hold a special place in my heart, my comfort series. I used to read these books, finish them, and start all over. Love it.

I surprisingly enjoyed this book. Jenny Han’s writing was interesting and perfectly portrayed the ever-changing emotions of a teenage girl and how the world is viewed by her. I enjoyed the character development and the style of writing, which was descriptive but didn’t overtake from the plot or the storytelling. The book felt comforting, as if you had been to Cousins with Belly since she first went and had a strong introduction into this world. I liked the flashbacks too, as they allowed for further character development and improvement throughout.
However, I felt that the story was very slow and almost acted as a build up to the second book. The storyline felt very much like it was going to lead to things that never happened and the relationship between Conrad and Belly was not properly explored, which led to some confusion. While it has been picked up in the second book, I feel as though there should have been more about them in the first book- possibly in the flashback scenes where it focuses primarily on Jeremiah and Steven.

this book was a 3.5/5 for me which means it was good, might recommend it a little and overall was pretty good but not exactly my type. i know this is controversial but im neither team conrad or jeremiah and here's why: conrad is honestly just mean to her and jeremiah is a really nice guy but he is just too best friend material, like he's a great guy but for belly he should honestly just be a friend. and like the whole concept of a girl and 2 brothers disturbs me like in the future imagine how awkward family gatherings would be?? eh idk these are just my thoughts

I listened to this audiobook after binging the Prime adaptation of this book series. It’s narrated by the actors which is utterly perfect.
Loved the book, and the TV series has done a cracking job with the production and casting. The book oozes summer vibes, and I felt the teenage angst and romantic tension.
If you haven’t read or watched this series, what are you waiting for?!

Really solid summer read!!! Belly could be a bit obnoxious at times but it’s a YA novel and shes 15 going on 16 so who can blame her. I really enjoyed this one!

It was cute but lacked depth, I don’t understand her choices but she’s live laugh loving and that’s all that matters
