This is not literature by any means, but it sure is funny. A welcome dose of straight-shooting hilarity and f-bombs during a week of shut-down.

Am I the only person alive who didn’t love this book? I thought the dad was kind of mean and the son was annoying.

Such a good read. I should have looked this one up sooner. I will preface this review by saying I typically don't go for comedy books so I decided to branch out and read more from this particular genre. I also have crippling MDD (major depressive disorder) and panic disorder so I needed something to get me of this "funk" that I've been in for quite some time.

I learned about this one from a Facebook Goodreads group and I decided that I needed a good laugh. I don't regret it and I'm looking at picking up some more of Justin Halpern's work.

Obviously, as referred to in the title, Justin's father is the star of the book. I caught myself laughing out loud at several sections of the book (see the chapters about Angus and the rose bush and Justin's family eating like the underprivileged). My own father (rest in peace) had "way with words" but not quite like Justin's dad. Great stuff.

If you need a pick me up and don't mind the F bomb dropped CONSTANTLY, then this is the book for you. I can't recommend it enough.

Hilarious (and surprisingly heartwarming) tribute from a son who obviously loves his father and is obviously loved by his father in return. Sam Halpern is an unforgettable character. I admit that I didn't expect to enjoy reading this as much as I did. Looking forward to reading more of Halpern's work.

Laugh out loud funny! Be careful reading this on the bus, the train, even just near your family - you'll get looks for giggling and bursting out in laughter. A very funny tribute to a father who made growing up extremely interesting, entertaining, and the best kind of embarrassing.

I usually don't have too much luck with so called funny books. IMO they just usually aren't that funny. This book however was freaking hilarious! I absolutely loved Justin Halpern's dad. He was the perfect mix of funny, tough, and loving, Surprisingly he also is able to give a few real gems of advice throughout the book, all while being darned funny.
