While the premise was exciting and the characters were overall likable, the pacing of the book squandered its full potential. The characters’ journey to getting together is incredible rushed (happening suddenly in 1 night with little to no lead up after over 10 years of friendship), which I could have overlooked in such a short novella, however, the rest of the book did not move at the same pace. After the characters’ get together the story slows down considerably with very little happening and repetitive internal monologues which made me wish the author had taken longer to get the characters together and then sped up the rest of the book. As I found the part leading up to the couples first kiss quite engaging and well written, but after they got together the story took a bit of a turn for me
Alex and Kaden have been best friends since they were children. When Alex came out when they were teenagers, and Kadens dad questions him and makes sure he isn’t also ‘that way inclined’ Kaden pushes any possible feelings away.
Years later, Alex is getting married to another man, but when the wedding doesn’t go ahead and they get drunkenly married and go on the honeymoon together - and Kaden lets some of his feelings out and they finally come together.
It was so gorgeous and I was so invested even though it was only a short story!

É ok. Bom pra passar o tempo, porém nada demais. Divertidinho, os personagens são mais ou menos. Falta um molho, um sal nesse livro.
Short novella for a good time without drama
Love this! Needed a palette cleanser and this was just what I needed and craved. Just a simple, uncomplicated friends to lovers, peppered with bisexual awakening. No big drama that felt forced for the sake of the climax arch either. Just them figuring out their shit and coming together and being happy. Love it.
