I loved the writing style and I couldn’t stop thinking about the book while I went about my day. However, the

incest

vibes kinda weirded me out and the climax left me wanting a bit more. I was more into the plot than the characters. I appreciated the length and would definitely try more of her books in the future.

Tha character are in a toxic relationship. Because of their nature (being vampires) they have an interesting relationship dynamic. the one who sired them is considered a father figure and they siblings to each other. They are also involved romantically. The old vampire is abusive and controlling with the rest and although it is mostly emotional, he did struck one of the characters once.
