Connelly's novel features Rene Ballard. Harry figures as a minor character, and Maddie Bosch, now a street policewoman and aspiring detective
, figures as well. Rene runs a cold case unit and Maddie joins it, showing acumen and chops as she helps solve a long-dead case of major significance. This promises a further expansion of the Bosch World, and I'm looking forward to it. Along the way another issue spins out, in this case a threat of terrorism. All in all, a strong and excellent read.
