Really getting tired of Connelly feeling the need to interject his politics into his books recently. What happened to just telling a good story? We are bombarded with politics all day every day. Do these authors not understand we read books to have an escape from the constant bickering?

Love all of Connelly’s work especially Harry Bosch.

Felt the cases were over too soon. Was wanting a bit more of each case but still really loved it.

What else can I say about these books? I've read just about everything Connelly has written and he just doesn't disappoint. This book was from Renee Ballard's point of view and I genuinely enjoy how everyone fits in with these series. Harry took a back seat to Ballard and Maddie which was honestly really really great. It felt like Connelly is kind of passing the world off to these talented women. The day Harry is gone will be such a sad day but I think the way Renee and Maddie are being set up to take over is perfect. They both have the best of Harry and even some of his badassness and grit. I'm just so in love with this series and these characters. 5 stars. I could listen to these characters and these situations all day every day.
