Michael Connelly is the master of crime fiction and a Ballard and Bosch combo is one of my favours things. 

We see Ballard and her band of merry volunteers in the cold case squad doing their thing with the added help of another sworn member - the other Bosch … Maddie, who is doing some volunteering around her hours in auto theft. Ballard is also in a spot of bother having had her badge and gun stolen when our surfing, for which she needs the help of Harry. 

As always with a Connelly book there’s the different storylines that all converge in the last few chapters. And this book was absolutely worth it. We see a much more introspective side of Ballard, and learn more about her history. 

I read this book in a day, and I’m not sorry. 

Can absolutely recommend.
