I throughly enjoyed this book. I expected it to be a bit of a cheesy romance, but I'm happy to say it wasn't. I really enjoyed the constant flashbacks to different periods of time, I thought that was more interesting than most of the chapters in the present. Overall I think Haig does a great job at making the story interesting and engaging.

I really enjoyed this one. It was easy to get wrapped up in the story, trying to keep up with all the details. Each chapter jumps back and forth in time, but all told from the main character's POV. A nice, casual read with just enough intrigue to keep my mind occupied.

YES! I must say ”All the feels!” This novel was a great ride through time and love thanks to the many memories written in separate chapters. The ending is both painful and truthful. While the MC is depressed for most of the book, it’s there for good reasons. Such an emotional and lovely read. I will forever recommend it!

I saw a lot of reviews hating on this book, but I really didn't mind the farfetchedness of it the way others seemed to. It didn't bother me that he met famous people in their respective times. I thought it worked for Shakespeare. It felt forced for F. Scott Fitzgerald, but whatever, that's such a small party of the story.

I didn't love the ending. It felt a bit rushed, a bit forced. I didn't love (spoiler alert!) Marion's personality once she is back in the story.

I did like the surprise at the end of who the book was written for, I thought that was quite lovely.

This story of Tom Hazard does have a melancholy tone that I think won't be for everyone.

I could recommend this book to people who want a life story with just a touch of fantasy or magic to it. It reminded me a bit of the feeling I got reading The Lost Bookshop. I could also recommend this book to my fellow anti-spice crowd. There is no spice in this book.

I did not have the greatest time reading this book. It was not great in my opinion. I want to try picking up this book in the future and try reading it again to see if I do end up liking this book. This book stopped time and made if feel much longer. I loved the Midnight Library but this book fell flat for me. I feel like he did nothing for 400 years of his life. If I lived that long to be honest I don't know what I would do. I would do something better than what he did. I don't know what percentage I DNF'd this book. There are a lot of people that have rated this book 4 stars, maybe in the future I will rate this book 4 stars but as of right now, this book is getting a one star rating. I feel like if I did continue with this book I feel like it would have taken me along time to get through and then would have put me in a reading slump. Usually if I put down a book at night I lay there and think about how excited I am to pick it up the next day, that did not happen with this book at all. I don't know if I would have liked the audiobook for this book I do want to try and find one just to see if I can get through it faster or just maybe enjoy it more. I could not tell if this man had an actual condition or if he was just a vampire, I was that confused. I only picked up this book because it was by Matt Haig and I wish I had read the back of the book before picking up this book.
