I'm finding this hard to rate. I think in some instances the art style was fantastic, and in others I wasn't sure. Some of the characters looked exactly how I imagined, and others not at all. The original text is obviously amazing so the story itself is great, but I think a lot of the nuance and inner workings of Sephy and Callum's minds can't be seen in this medium, to the detriment of the book. Especially near the beginning I felt like there were omissions and jumps which would seem confusing if you weren't already familiar with the original text. I also found it hard when they would quote exactly from the original text but then miss part of the quote or scene out, although that wouldn't be so much of a problem if I hadn't read the first novel so recently. At the same time, however, some of the images, and in general seeing the scenes in a visual format, made them play out much more intensely than in the novel.
It's interesting to compare this, the play, and the tv show as adaptations of the same base text but all very different, and all choosing to include and exclude certain things.
