I was not enjoying this one like I did LH and really wasn’t connecting to the characters or story. Having read some reviews knowing there was multiple explicit scenes compared to LH’s one scene that I had been able to skip I decided it wasn’t worth finishing. Sadly, I think LH was the only book I will enjoy by this author. I appreciate her writing about STEM but it felt so repetitive of her other book and just wanted more depth to the story than super meaningless miscommunications and physically based/lust-filled interactions.

This was pretty good but I feel like a lot of it was pretty similar to The Love Hypothesis.

I liked Levi and Bee but I feel like there wasn’t enough about them in the book to really fall in love with them. The amount of Marie Curie references was honestly a bit much for me, Bee seemed a little too obsessed.
Also how the heck did Bee not realize that Levi liked her?? And Levi man, figure your stuff out. Communicate!!

I really love the women in STEM theme of these books and all the neuroscience stuff. Super interesting.

I was a bit caught off guard with the ending, even though I saw part of it coming. It seemed a little overdramatized to me.
I figured Guy was the one messing with the files and that Levi and Bee would figure out they were twitter friends, but the whole sabotaging-your-project, giving-himself-a-seizure, ruining-other-people’s-careers, trying-to-stage-a-suicide was a bit much. It wasn’t even like he was working for the other company or anything like that, and umm I thought he was supposed to be close to Levi (like really good friends!) so how did he end up trying to kill Levi’s girlfriend and no one noticed anything was off with him until after the fact??

I kind of wish we got more info about Lily and Penny too. It felt like they were just filler when they could have been really good characters if we got to see more actual interactions with them instead of brief descriptions and using them as a plot device.

Also wth was with Rocío? And Reike? They just seemed like really weird side characters. Some things Ro said were funny but most of the time it was just ??? Her friend Annie and her ex too, ugh why were there so many crappy side characters and plots?

Overall, I liked the book and was honestly more in to the romance in this than in TLH, but it was a bit weird and I think the story itself wasn’t as good.

Honestly, I can’t believe it but I actually loved this more than TLH! (Which still holds a special place in my heart) but wow wow wow I loved this story and the conflict was just delicious. I literally finished it in less than 24 hours. Obsessed.

Another quick, feel good, romance read. Lots of the story is predictable but it’s done in a way I did not mind it. Bee is a great lead, I lover her imperfections and comparing her to Olive from Love Hypothesis, she’s much more relatable because she’s so imperfect. I’m not sure why both main leads are orphans, but Bee having a twin sister as an outlet was a welcome add. Levi is great. He’s similar yet more approachable than Adam, and I liked him right away. My favorite character was Rocio… she was the best thing about this story.

Bee had a lot of baggage… too much, in addition to being an orphan, she was engaged and ultimately called off her wedding weeks before because her fiancée was cheating on her with her bff. This meant she could not go to the lab she planned to go to (since they were going there too), and yeah. She also had serious fears of being left alone and heartbreak so she’s really in a bad spot to love anyone. Levi was too perfect and as it’s said in the book… to “hate” someone that much it’s like love. He was clearly head over heels with Bee… with her being a neuro science expert, her obliviousness to this was not funny, it was sad.

Plot wise, of course the guy friend if Levi was the bad guy… of course Rocio falls for Kaylee… basically a rehash of Love Hypothesis. Huge lack of originality. The girl power moments become a joke when I’m the end Levi is the savior. That NASA would have such crap security… completely unrealistic.

For a cute easy read, it’s comparable to Love Hypothesis… but be warned… you may just want to read that again as this is much too similar a story. Rocio aside, no originality in this one.
