Giving this FIVE AMAZING STARS because it was such an unexpected surprise.
I don't usually take a chance on authors I have never heard of but the plot intrigued me.
This book is very well-written and I love the characters so much. I loved that it was Ryder who fought for the two of them and he did not fight his feelings (because usually it's the guy who gets stupid and realizes their feelings late). Both characters were funny, smart, and awesome. Love 'em! 😍

Another one from The Royals Collection by Louise Bay, that I quite enjoyed. Not sure why I've been into the kind of cheesy romance with a side of smut lately but obviously I'm going to read book #2 next.

I enjoyed the somewhat unbelievable story, (it's a fiction book, duh), and the characters, as well as Max, Violet, Harper and of course Scarlett being all part of Book 1 of the series. Definitely cute, with some smolder, hot times.

5/5★

A wonderful light read!

These two are fun, sweet and loyal - Their relationship is much the same, showing the right amount of everything and I’m here for it.

I’m thoroughly enjoying this series, it’s nice to have a break from the normal sometimes and these books are the perfect light reads for anyone to enjoy!!

What's hotter than Louise Bay book boyfriend? A Louise Bay British book boyfriend. Hot, hot, hot.

I wasn't quite sure how Bay was going to wow me after reading so many of her books now, but as always she does not disappoint. Another character spun off from the King of Wall Street, we have Scarlett. A recently divorced woman working her way back into the dating scene. She's had some good dates, but nothing to build a relationship on. A chance encounter with a dashing man in a bar leads to what she thought would be a one night stand that would help her leave her failed marriage behind her and ready to take on the next stage of her life. While trying to hold on to the one thing she holds dear, her company, she winds up meeting back up with the dashing Brit, Ryder, that she thought she'd never see again. Both have their reasons on why they need each other, and join to start a new adventure. One that neither thought that they would ever start.

This book has it all. Two strong leads and it's written in dual alternating POV. There's visits with characters from King of Wall Street and Park Avenue Prince. Dirty talking alpha and did I mention the best part... he's British. Swoon. Scarlett is confident and strong and a likable heroine. And while there's some angst, it's not torturous. It ends great, yet leaves me wanting more. I don't think I'll ever get enough of Ryder, much like I was left wanting more Sam after Park Avenue Prince.

I listened to this as an audiobook, so my review will reflect that.

This was a quick and easy listen and not what I thought it would be.

Ryder and Scarlett are two people who meet when Scarlett is trying to bounce back after a devastating divorce on her end. Ryder is a playboy looking for his next lay.

After a passionate night with each other, Ryder is surprised to find out that she is the co-owner of a perfume company that he is trying to buy.

A series of events makes it so that Ryder has to marry, not only to inherit his title of Duke, but also to keep his childhood home and beloved company out of the wrong hands.

So the two make a pact, he'll keep her company from going under and she'll be his fake wife, for at least 3 months.

This book was much more spicy than I realized it was going to be. The plot behind the sex is good if the two of them could just keep their hands off each other long enough to let it develop.

There was much character development for them. At least from what we saw outside the bedroom and from time skips. Scarlett's ex husband made her feel like she was a horrible wife and not worthy of being married again, I would have liked to see a bit more of her growing from that and being happy with her new relationship.

Ryder's development, on the other hand, just seemed to be a bit, well, forced. He mentions throughout the book that he is a confirmed bachelor. That one woman would never have been enough for him, but after being married for an indeterminate amount of time, courtesy of a time skip, he realized, "Oh, maybe being married isn't so bad." Which, while nice, was a bit of an annoying flip, with very little build up.

Not that I think this is a bad story in the least, I did find myself enjoying it and will physically read this book when I get a chance.

This story has things that I love: forced proximity, fake relationships, a commoner, and royalty. It's just a bit too much spice for me.

I give this 3.75 out of 5 stars.
