Definitely did not see the plot twist coming and a big fan of how this story relates to Rumpelstiltskin, intrigued for the next book. I did like the fairytale style of writing and description, though at times, it was a bit tedious, especially when the plot was ramping up

This is a fresh take on the "retelling a fairy tale" genre. I enjoyed it immensely, and the author manages to avoid many of the sexist pitfalls of the fairy tale genre. The queer representation was a happy surprise. I enjoyed it, though at times it did feel a bit slow, hence the less than perfect rating. The perfect balance of predictable twists with unexpected details, so the ending feels earned but not stale.

I enjoyed the plot a lot but I felt confused on the world building sometimes and that made kinda hard to catch on at points.

It does seem a bit slow at first with all the world building but once it starts unraveling it picks up FAST. It’s a fresh take on the Rumpelstiltskin fairytale.

Easy read and I enjoyed the mystery of Gild's past. They spent a little too much time on the fluff on every moon but when things happened in this book, they happened.
